Our Optometrists
Manon Hapke
Dr. Hapke graduated from the school of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1991. For the past several years, Dr. Hapke has been practicing optometry at the McLeod Optometry Clinic. Dr. Hapke enjoys assisting patients of all ages and endeavors to work with them to achieve their optimal visual health and is bilingual in English and German. Dr. Hapke is a member in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists. During her free time, Dr. Hapke enjoys volunteering, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time outdoors with her family.
Benjamin Wild
Dr. Ben Wild was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, where he played hockey as a child and began his studies as a young adult. He earned his Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Ottawa, majoring in medicinal chemistry. Continuing along the research path, Ben earned his Master of Science in cellular and molecular medicine before his drive to provide hands-on care to those in need led him to study optometry at the University of Waterloo. During his studies, he interned with the cornea, cataract, refractive, retinal, uveitis, and pediatric ophthalmologists in Houston, Texas, and with neuro-optometrists working with traumatic brain injury patients. After participating in a VOSH trip to Ecuador, where he helped provide exams and glasses to more than 3,500 patients and practicing full scope optometry in Alberta, Dr. Wild has returned to Ottawa. Dr. Wild is glad to be back cheering for the Senators in the city they both call home.
